Since his appointment as a Clinical Care Manager in January 2016, Daniel has excelled within the business being promoted to General Manager in June 2017 and receiving an Outstanding CQC rating from the Care Quality Commission in September that same year.
According to his care team, every day Daniel shows innovation in the way that he manages, leads and engages with those around him.
Under Daniel’s support and guidance, Bucklesham Grange Care Home in Ipswich, Suffolk has been bed rail free for two years. Daniel created a fall prevention clinical improvement plan in July 2016, which identified an increase in falls and quickly assessed trends affecting the falls and incidents of residents found on the floor. The project incorporated lifestyles, resident engagement, medication, team levels, allocation and equipment use and a result of this, falls reduced by 36% in the space of a month and a whopping 77% just five months after the tool was implemented.
Daniel is dedicated to delivering excellent care to residents and as a testament to this, his home also recently became the first care home in the Ipswich area to receive an accredited certification in end of life care. In order to receive this Bucklesham Grange undertook a supported self-improvement programme with St Elizabeth Hospice in 2016 consisting of accredited training, education and development to improve practice and raise standards of end of life care.
