Avnish Goyal has been involved in the care sector since 1997 and was initially attracted to the industry by his desire to make a difference. By founding the company and purchasing his first care home in Wales, he began the journey to realise his vision of becoming recognised as the leading provider of high-quality relationship-centred care for all residents.
To achieve this vision, Avnish knew he would have to do three things: provide enabling and stimulating environments; recruit compassionate, skilled and dedicated people; and invest in continued training, mentoring and coaching.
Twenty one years on, there are now 17 Hallmark Care Homes across England and Wales, with three more in the pipeline and the company is recognised as a leading, financially stable provider. In December 2016, Avnish scooped the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award’ at the Great British Care Awards. In November 2015, Avnish won the prestigious accolade of ‘Care Personality of the Year’ at the National Care Awards and in 2014 Hallmark Care Homes was awarded ‘Care Group of the Year.’ Aside from this, Hallmark has won the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards for its new builds for six consecutive years with the latest title for Chamberlain Court Care Home in March this year.
Avnish is a regular attendee at Care Conferences and forums and is regularly invited as a guest speaker at industry events. He is proud to be the Chair of Care England and the founding trustee of The Care Workers’ Charity. Avnish is also heavily involved in charity work through the Hemraj Goyal Foundation, set up in memory of his late father, and through matched funding by Hallmark Care Homes for team fundraising activities.
