Sue has been with Hallmark Care Homes for eight years and has excelled in the management and build of eight current homes, with two being built. She was promoted to Head of Land and Development in recognition of her hard work and has also led on a recent acquisition and design, which takes Hallmark into the assisted Independent Living market.
Hallmark Care Homes has won five Pinders Healthcare Design Awards since Sue joined and she is integral to the growth of the new care home openings, managing land acquisition and build projects and is respected by her network of healthcare agents and consultants.
As well as co-managing the construction of new homes, Sue works with agents to acquire sites and completes independent market research, including competitor analysis and ‘mystery shops’. She works with architects and design managers to determine the look and flow of the building, ensuring a unique design. Her engagement through the planning process includes working with local communities and neighbours, to keep them informed, working together to achieve a desired outcome for all. Sue was instrumental in the initiation and set up of ‘Goldfinch’, a new construction company, which will build care homes for Hallmark and other operators.
Sue is the co-founder of the Women in Healthcare Property Forum – a network of women in care and property fields with a view to helping women feel more comfortable networking in a male dominated property industry.
