Somerset Care has been involved in a range of research collaborations with Exeter University, including investigation of the factors which motivate care workers; the impact of social media on the health and well being of older and disabled people; and evaluation of a specialist service called Petals for caring for people with advanced dementias in their own homes. Somerset Care is currently involved in two research projects on dementia care led by Exeter University, which is now an Alzheimer’s Society Centre of Excellence in research on dementia.
Somerset Care was an early adopter of digital technology in care, implementing the first systems nearly 25 years ago.
