Lisa Soper has worked in the care sector for 24 years in a variety of roles and with growing responsibilities; starting at ground level and experiencing every function right through to home manager, she really understands how a care home should work successfully.
A Registered Social Worker with a Post Graduate Degree in Dementia Care, Lisa was recently promoted to Operations Manager South for Avery, with 24 care homes under her command, as well as four regional managers and four support managers. Now responsible for over 2,000 staff and 1,800 residents, with an annual turnover of £75m, Lisa has an enviable career track record from modest beginnings, and is set to go further.
Joining Avery as a Regional Manager in 2014, Lisa managed the repositioning of seven acquired homes from HC-One, all of which were in need of improvement. All the homes in that region now have a Good rating from the CQC, and two are rated as Outstanding in individual categories.
Lisa is also keen to ensure that those working for her develop their careers and enhance their skills. Avery has a comprehensive and leading training and development programme, for all levels and types of staff in both care and non-care roles, and within this structure Lisa has developed staff up to senior positions such as Manager and Deputy Manager. Lisa’s track record in the sector places her in a very select group, and she is a leader to watch for the future.
