Donna’s calm exterior and caring approach brings all team members on board and enables them to share their thoughts and feelings in an open, honest and transparent environment. Her support to the regional team is invaluable.
She works tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of Athena’s 500 plus team and she knows most of them by name as she spends all of her time out in the homes assisting with any HR related concerns or queries.
Donna holds regular HR clinics for team members to attend and always offers sound and solid advice and feeds back so that team members know they have been listened to.
She oversees recruitment to ensure all requirements are met and is instrumental in recruitment of overseas nurses, even picking them up from the airport and settling them in on their arrival.
Donna has contributed massively in the roll out of team empowerment days and also in building a new training and induction programme for all roles within the organisation. She has revamped all policies and procedures to ensure they are clear, precise and user friendly, but also meeting all required regulations.
Donna supports the home managers in retention and sickness management and staff retention has improved significantly in the last year with her input.
