Carrie is 28 years old and started her care career 10 years ago as a carer having already cared at home for her disabled sister and grandmother with dementia.
After becoming team leader of a residential dementia unit, it quickly became apparent that Carrie totally excelled in every aspect required of her.
In September 2015 Athena introduced a new under management role which Carrie applied for. The feedback from her interview with Athena’s non-executive director was that in all his interviews he had never seen anybody so prepared and passionate about what they do and how they want to make a difference.
Carrie has successfully managed this role in the last two years and now acts as duty manager for a 106 bed care home. She has also successfully introduced a 20 bed rehabilitation unit into the care home, training the team and ensuring that a very challenging initiative is a success.
Carrie is now at the stage of her career where she is ready to manage a care home of her own or maybe even take on a regional role. She is a total inspiration and will excel in everything she endeavours to achieve. She is an exceptional candidate of award winning quality who is thought of in very high regard by colleagues, managers, residents, relatives and professionals alike.
