Rachel joined Care UK in 2013 as an Operations Director, successfully overseeing the implementation of the company’s ground-breaking partnership with Suffolk County Council – a programme which was this year recognised at the Health Investor Awards as the Public Private Partnership of the Year.
In 2016, in recognition of her relentless passion for improving care quality, she was promoted to join the company’s executive team, taking on responsibility for governance, health and safety and ultimately for the quality of care delivered to the 7,000 plus residents in Care UK’s 115 homes.
In the company’s 2016 operating year, she drove a 24% improvement to regulatory ratings in England and this is continuing to rise. Care UK has secured its first Outstanding rating and Rachel is now driving an Outstanding Club programme to foster a culture of continual improvement across the company’s homes in England and Scotland. This sits alongside processes for identifying risk indicators much earlier and mobilising additional support for homes going through a challenging period.
Rachel has also been one of the driving forces behind Care UK’s Fulfilling Lives strategy which is delivering improvements in dementia care, lifestyle and activities, the dining experience, learning and development, and care and clinical practice.
