Managing director John Strowbridge has turned Avery Healthcare into one of the care home industry’s most respected and honoured businesses.
In a “defining year” for the business, Avery was this named Residential Care Provider of the Year at the annual Health Investor Awards in June.
Major initiatives by the business this year have included the introduction of its Hotel with Care concept and the development of a comprehensive Well-Being Programme, which helps residents to maintain independence, community links and lifelong learning through a wide ranging calendar of daily events and activities.
Avery’s ‘hotel-style’ care homes include a new multi-million pound care home in Derby with private dining areas that was launched in January this year.
The company also claims to have been the first care sector provider to introduce an Integrated governance model that covers all the aspects of good governance: to be safe, effectively run, and customer focused. Avery also developed a portfolio for all nurses to support their revalidation, supported by clinical networks, nurse-qualified regional managers and other senior nurses within the company.
The executive management category is sponsored by Nursing Hygiene Group.
