If business leadership is judged by results, then Christine Asbury has to be up there with the very best in the care industry.
With Christine at the helm, WCS Care has become an industry leader in quality. In August this year WCS Care was the second care home operator to secure four Outstanding ratings from the CQC.
When Care Home Professional recently asked Christine for the secret of her success she said: “It’s all about embedding four values: Play, Make someone’s day, Be there and Choose your attitude.”
Christine makes sure everyone buys into her philosophy by personally visiting every care home and working with every team on sessions on the four values.
She is not a fan of the current buzz term person-centred care and how is it used as a label for how a care home should operate. She prefers to find people with naturally caring natures and reinforce that talent by asking them to consider the four values.
Christine has a background in the charitable sector working with Age Concern and with people with physical and learning disabilities. She is also a non-executive Board member of the Quality of Life charitable trust and the National Care Forum.
The care quality and compliance category is sponsored by Quality Compliance Systems
