After a two-year struggle to secure planning permission, a 141-bed Southampton care home is set to begin its build phase.
The Southern Daily Echo reports that the project includes an 80-bed nursing home specialising in nursing, dementia and personal care, as well as a 61-bed nursing home offering neurological rehabilitation.
The NHS project could create as many as 190 jobs for the area, between Southampton and Romsey.
The London-based developer finally received planning permission two years after its first plan was rejected.
The Southampton care home build will see a new highway access, as well as parking for 105 cars.
This is the second care residence announced in the Romsey area in the last few months, with a 54-apartment, £11.2m property slated for opening in 2021.
