Care home operator Silvercrest Group is investing £1 million in a new dementia care home in Wales.

Established by Dr Bikram Choudhary in 2014, Silvercrest operates homes across South Wales from Pontypridd to the Swansea Valley. Its latest addition is the 33-bed Ty Nant care home in Williamstown, which will create 50 new jobs this autumn.

Dr Choudhary, chief executive of Silvercrest, said: “We are investing £1 million in a new bespoke dementia care facility at Ty Nant, which will provide a much needed service in this part of Wales.

“Our ambition is to grow into a significant care home group in size and scope of services, based on our principle of creating a warm, friendly and engaging environment for our residents in homes that are an active part of the communities we serve.

“As part of this significant investment we will be bringing new jobs to the area so we are looking for high quality professional nurses and carers to join our team.”

Dr Choudhary is the co-founder of Silvercrest and former director of care home operator, Hallmark. He has been involved in the care sector since 1992.

As well as Ystrad Pentre, Silvercrest Group operates care homes at Morgana Court in Bridgend, Cwrt Enfys in Ystradgynlais and The Hollies in Pontypridd.
