A Shropshire nursing home which has gone into administration has been put up for sale by specialist property adviser Christie & Co.
Elmhurst Nursing Home in Prees, which is run by Claremont Care Liminted, was rated ‘requires improvement’ by the CQC following an inspection in April 2016.
Paul Reilly, associate director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale on behalf administrator AlixPartners, said: “This is a good opportunity for either a small regional operator looking to add to their portfolio or someone looking for a turnaround project with management and staff already in place.”
Claremont Care, which was registered to run six homes in the Midlands, went into administration in February 2016 (see Administrator seeks buyer for Claremont Care Limited six home estate).
Having started out as a residential property, Elmhurst is currently registered for 45 residents in 37 rooms (29 with en suite facilities). The residents’ accommodation is all located on the ground floor and there is also planning consent for a 60 bed extension to the property.
The freehold interest of Elmhurst Nursing Home is being marketed with a guide price of £1.5m.
