Runwood Homes to expand Northern Ireland care home

Ashbrooke

Runwood Homes has signalled its intention to expand a recently acquired care home in Northern Ireland.

Following its recent acquisition, Runwood has said it plans to add 20-30 jobs at the Ashbrooke Care Home in Enniskillen, the Fermanagh Herald reports.

Northern Ireland director of operations for Runwood Homes, John Rafferty, said: “We have a high reputation and operate high quality facilities. We are hoping to add 20 or 30 jobs to the care home for the Fermanagh area as there is one area of the building which is currently not being used.

“We are hoping to refurbish the care home, decorate the inside of the home and invest in the environment. We are also planning on adding dementia friendly areas and gardens for families and patients. We will be putting the best practices in place for dementia patients and will focus on improving the experience of the patients and their families.

“The staff will receive wider support and training on personal development which will help develop their careers and they will have opportunities they may not have had before.”

Ashbrooke Care Home is one of three Northern Ireland homes recently bought by Runwood (see Runwood Homes buys three care homes in Northern Ireland).  The business currently operates eight care homes in Northern Ireland.
