Prestige Group, which owns and operates five homes in the North East of England, has applied for planning permission for a 93-bed home in Hartlepool.
The Teeside business also has one home under construction in Doncaster, and another about to break ground in Walberton, West Sussex.
The company is unusual in the care home industry because it not only owns and operates homes, it also finances and builds them.
Referring to the proposed residence in Hartlepool, a spokesperson for Prestige Group said: “As a Teesside based operator, we continually seek new opportunities within the region and we are very excited about the proposed development and in particular being in the locality of Bishop Cuthbert [Hartlepool]. The Prestige Group has a proven track record of delivering luxury high spec purpose built care facilities which will see high demand for the service.”
The home is expected to employ more than 100 care professionals.
A design and access statement prepared by agents emBark Architecture says that the care home will include an on-site commercial kitchen, laundry, hairdressing salon, several day rooms and 93 en suite bedrooms.
