New Care appoints chief operating officer

Cathryn Fairhurst has been appointed as chief operation officer (COO) of care home operator New Care.

Cath takes responsibility for the quality of care and commercial performance at New Care’s homes.

“Every single individual within the company has the residents’ best interests at heart and is committed to delivering the best possible levels of care, nursing and individual support.

“This position at New Care offers the unique opportunity to be involved from the very beginning, shaping and steering the individual build projects by working with the architects and builders to ensure that our homes enable residents to live in the most positively designed environment possible.

“I will be personally involved at all levels with design and build, recruitment and selection and delivery of care to the benefit of our residents.”

Cath has held senior roles at other national healthcare providers including Barchester Healthcare and Four Seasons Health Care.

A registered general nurse, she qualified in 1988 at Warrington General Hospital and completed an MBA via Open University in 2006.

CEO at New Care, Chris McGoff, commented:  “With the appointment of Cath, I am confident that we now have an exceptional team in place to help New Care expand at a faster rate and deliver our vision of quality, person-centred care.  We are all looking forward to working with her over the coming months.”
