Richard Hawes has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of luxury care home provider Elizabeth Finn Homes Limited (EFHL).
His appointment follows the retirement of Carolynne Miller after 13 years in the post.
Richard said: “I am delighted to join Elizabeth Finn Homes in what is an incredibly exciting time. With building work having already started at The Lodge in Exeter, as well as considerable investment across all of our homes in the UK, I look forward to continuing to ensure that the Elizabeth Finn Homes name is synonymous with providing the very highest standard of care for residents.”
Richard’s appointment comes as EFHL is increasing its capacity and occupancy rate from 94% last year.
Richard is a Registered Nurse who trained at the Royal Cornwall School of Nursing and is a qualified Community Psychiatric Nurse.
He has a Diploma in Professional Studies in Nursing from Plymouth University and in 2005 completed his MBA at Keele University.
He has previously served as Regional Operations Director for Barchester Healthcare, Director of Care Services at Care South and Care Director at The Orders of St John Care Trust.
Henry Elphick, Chairman of EFHL, commented: “We are delighted that Richard is joining as our new Chief Executive. As a trained nurse and having worked for a number of the leading nursing home providers during his career, Richard brings with him the ideal skills to maintain the highest possible standards of care in our homes, as well as expand our portfolio. Richard is joining a very strong senior team and a highly successful business built up under the leadership of Carolynne Miller. His appointment is great news for Elizabeth Finn Homes, our staff and our residents.”
