EveryLife founder and CEO Paul Barry believes all care industry problems can be solved by addressing just two issues – funding and transparency.
Paul’s comments came during a talk to delegates on the second day of Health Plus Care at London ExCeL.
He told Care Home Professional: “We spend a lot of time talking to care services, trying to understand the root causes of some of these (problems) and what we find again and again is that it boils down to funding and transparency.
“They’re both big challenges but they’re challenges that can be addressed and it’s important they’re addressed now because opinions on health care and what’s expected have changed, and we need to recognise that.”
As part of addressing the two issues, EveryLife Technologies backs the movement to remove manual care recording in favour of rolling out technology-based systems.
Paul claimed that mobile apps, such as EveryLife’s PASSsystem, which can digitally record residents’ information and then share the report with selected people including care home staff and families, are manageable ways for care providers to tackle finance and transparency related issues.
