Des Kelly OBE, Dallas Pounds and Kim Davies have been appointed Trustees of Greensleeves Care.
The three appointees bring a wealth of experience from the care and healthcare industry, property and estates expertise, as well as leadership and governance.
Chris Shaw, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, said: “I am delighted to welcome three eminent, new Trustees to the Board. Their backgrounds and experience enhance the skills we require to continue our successful strategy of delivering excellent care to an increasing number of older people around the country.”
Des was executive director of the National Care Forum (NCF) from 2003 until his retirement in 2016. The NCF is a membership based organisation established to promote quality care outcomes for people receiving care and support services through the not-for-profit sector.
He was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June 2007 for services to social care. Des was also the founder chair of the Care Provider Alliance, is currently the chair of the charity, the Centre for Policy on Ageing and previously chaired the advisory group of the ‘My Home Life’ culture change programme and TLAP Quality Forum.
He recently served as a commissioner on the Demos review of residential care. In addition to being a Trustee of Greensleeves Care, Des is a director of both Skills for Care and the charity, the Residential Forum.
Dallas qualified as a nurse in 1989 and was a specialist in palliative and end of life care before taking on a variety of leadership and management roles in the NHS.
She joined the charity sector in 2010, and in 2013 became chief executive officer at the Royal Trinity Hospice in central London, responsible for every aspect of organisational management and governance. Dallas is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a senior associate of The Royal Society of Medicine.
Kim Davies brings to the Board over 20 years of property and facilities management experience within the financial services sector. She is currently director of Group Real Estate at Legal & General where she is responsible for the property strategy and facilities management of the occupied portfolio across the UK. She is also responsible for the management of the business continuity and Health & Safety frameworks.
The appointments are designed to reinforce the Board at a time of significant expansion and growth.
