A former HC-one care assistant is facing misconduct charges for allegedly swearing in front of a care home resident.
Hilda Wood, formerly of Finavon Court, Forfar, is appearing before a Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) hearing this week.
A spokesperson for the home said: “Nothing is more important to us than the health, safety and wellbeing of those we support.
“When the allegations were brought to our attention, we acted immediately to suspend the staff member involved, and inform all appropriate authorities. We were deeply concerned by these allegations, which go against everything we stand for as an organisation.
“As the fitness to practice process is ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
Ms Wood, who was subsequently dismissed by HC-One, is charged with swearing at a resident during her employment with the home in March 2015.
The care assistant faces further charges of care neglect at the hearing, which is expected to conclude this week.
Finavon Court is a purpose-built home offering nursing dementia care and support for adults with learning and physical disabilities.
The home also provides care for those who have suffered a stroke or suffer from Parkinson’s disease, diabetes of heart disease.
Finavon Court was rated Good by the Care Inspectorate in its latest report.
