A local community event has been held to mark the launch of Care UK’s Skylark House in Horsham.
Mark Spofforth OBE, High Sheriff of West Sussex, did the honours to officially open the home.
Guests were treated to a special performance from children at Holbrook Primary School, and local jazz band, Gershwin Gang, who were on hand to play some of the resident’s favourite songs.
Skylark House home manager, Devendra Lallchand, said: “We were delighted to have a visit from the High Sheriff of West Sussex to officially open the home and mark this important milestone. We would also like to thank the children from Holbrook Primary School, the Hawking Centre and Gershwin Gang for helping to make this such a special event.
“Since we opened the doors to Skylark, our residents and their families are at the heart of everything we do, including the launch celebrations. It was fantastic to welcome so many local people to Skylark House, and our grand launch was a day to remember.”
Guests were given the opportunity to get up close with animals from the Hawking Centre and enjoyed a demonstration with the birds from the handlers.
Those who attend the event also had the chance to meet the team at Skylark house and take a tour of the care home, as well as enjoy a selection of treats made by the home’s head chef.
