Barchester Healthcare is celebrating its second Outstanding after Forest Hill Care Home in Worksop, Nottinghamshire received the CQC’s top rating.
Forest Hill’s success comes after Barchester’s Lucerne House Care Centre in Exeter gained Outstanding earlier this year.
Elizabeth Dodd, General Manager at Forest Hill Care Home, said: “We are ecstatic! The team at Forest Hill work so hard to provide the highest possible standard of care for everyone who lives at the home and we are so delighted that the CQC have rated us Outstanding overall.
“I’m very proud of the whole team. Everyone played their part and every person is equally important. I really believe that delivering this standard of care is all about having great people who are passionate about the job and strong leaders who lead with enthusiasm.”
Forest Hill was rated Outstanding for being Caring and Responsive and Good for being Safe, Effective and Well Led.
The CQC report stated “people were happy and had positive relationships with staff who provided their care”, and that “[they] saw many examples of positive and caring interactions between people and staff”.
The CQC added: “Staff went out of their way to make people feel that they mattered, and that they got the support they needed to maintain control of their lives. They were cared for by sufficient numbers of staff who were skilled, experienced and knowledgeable about people’s individual needs.
“Staff promoted people’s independence, and people were active citizens of their local community [who] had grown in confidence and were proud of their achievements.”
