Perth-based Balhousie Care Group has won a prestigious business award.
The operator of 25 care homes across Scotland was named Service Business of the Year at the Courier Business Awards on Saturday.
Chairman and Balhousie Care founder Tony Banks said: “We’re delighted to be named Service Business of the Year, since providing excellent service to our residents is our number one priority. The whole team at Balhousie Care has been working hard on achieving excellence across the organisation, from how we approach care to our core company values. It’s great to see everyone’s passion and commitment recognised with yet another award.”
Balhousie was recognised for its leading-edge elderly and specialist care, which focuses on inclusive, person-centred programmes. These include a Participation Charter, which gives care home residents and families a say in everything from policies to recruitment, and Together We’re Great, another person-centred project, which supports the needs of every individual within the organisation.
The group has picked up a raft of awards over the last year for its leadership, innovation and leading-edge dementia strategies, as well as achieving 6-star ‘excellent’ ratings from the Care Inspectorate – the highest ratings possible from the regulatory body. Dementia Consultant Yvonne Manson has also recently been recognised with an RCNi award for leadership.
