Avery Healthcare’s Crispin Court Care Home in Stafford is celebrating a housekeeping and catering awards double.

The home has achieved Gold Award status in both areas under the Continuous Advancement Programme (CAP).

Davesh Kumar, Head of Hotel Services at Avery, said: “I wanted to recognise the hard work of the Housekeeping, Food & Beverage service and Culinary teams at Crispin Court Care Home in Stafford. “It’s important we recognise the hard work they do behind the scenes and through the CAP Awards we can congratulate them on their important contribution to the success of the home and to set the bar for raising standards across the sector.”

The CAP Awards promote and reward excellence in catering and housekeeping, in hospitals as well as care homes and schools. Its aim is to raise standards in service and performance and to support the development of services for the benefit of the end user.

Davesh added: “Only 15% of participants in the CAP Award Programme achieve a Gold – so we are extremely proud and delighted. The investment of time and effort, and the commitment of the team at Crispin Court cannot be understated. We look to the future now with a commitment to maintain the Gold status for the next three years, to give us Platinum status (maintaining Gold for three successive years).”

Davesh plans to extend the CAP programme across other Avery homes to build on this outstanding achievement.

The project was overseen by Avery Healthcare Home Manager Lorraine Ford who commented: “The two Gold Awards are fantastic recognition for all the staff involved. The housekeeping and catering staff contribute so much to the success of the home and residents’ well-being. What they do day in, day out, and their passion, is key to the home’s success.”
