CEO Jane Ashcroft CBE has praised Anchor’s Outstanding care home managers during a special event in Surrey.

The event took place at Anchor’s Outstanding West Hall care home in Surrey where the managers were able to share best practice and discuss how they achieved the CQC’s top rating.

Anchor’s four overall Outstanding managers are: Tracy Manzi of West Hall, West Byfleet, Surrey; Marcia Forsythe of Silk Court, Bethnal Green, London; Neil McCalley of St Anne’s, Saltash, Cornwall; and Rachel McGarry of Manor Court, Plymouth, Devon.

Neil said: “This has been a great day for me personally but I must praise my fantastic team in Saltash who have been right behind me seven days a week.  I am very lucky in that we have a lovely group of residents, and for whom looking after has proved an absolute pleasure.”

Jane added: “This is one of the great perks of being CEO: I get to present a reward to four managers who have achieved this outstanding work – and there is no better word for it.  To Neil, Rebecca, Tracy and Marcia, I take terrific pleasure in saying well done and thank you – you and your hard working teams are a credit to Anchor.”

A further three Anchor homes have achieved Outstanding in one category: Springfield in Bradford, Birkenhead Court in The Wirral and Waterside in London.

Anchor, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, now has more than three-quarters of its homes either rated Good or Outstanding, and boasts being the most compliant large provider of residential care in England.
