Anchor is celebrating its third Outstanding care home rating after St Anne’s Care Home in Saltash, Cornwall received the top accolade.
The home, which offers care for up to 33 people, was rated Outstanding for being Caring and Responsive and Good for being Safe, Effective and Well-led, following an inspection in May.
Deputy Manager Wendy Foy commented: “The St Anne’s team is proud and thrilled with our achievement to have been given overall rating of Outstanding in our CQC report. This is down to the continued support, hard work and dedication of the whole team in making St Anne’s a great place to work and live.”
The CQC said: “A culture of safety was embedded within the home and staff were vigilant in spotting potential risks and addressing them. Staff responded quickly to any changes in people’s needs.
“People’s safety and well-being was promoted because staff developed positive and meaningful relationships with people and spent time with them. The atmosphere in the service was calm and organised. People and relatives consistently gave us very positive feedback about how the service met people’s needs.”
People and residents commented that staff seemed to “genuinely care” at the service with one healthcare professional adding: “I rate them very highly indeed, they are the best service in the area easily.”
