Struggling Midlands operator Elder Homes has called in administrators after a year of financial difficulties.
Grant Thornton UK will oversee the process, which will focus initially on finding a new buyer for the five care home group.
The administrator says that all homes will remain open while new buyers are sought.
Grant Thornton’s Joseph McLean told local newspaper Burton Mail that a number of prospective purchasers have already shown interest in acquiring one or all of the homes, and that all service users will continue to receive the highest level of care from Elder’s own team of managers, carers and nurses.
“The care and welfare of all service users remains the priority,” added McLean.
