In the five years that Andrew has been leading Care UK’s residential care services the provider has gone from strength to strength in terms of quality of care, investment in new homes and size and stability of its workforce.
Overall Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection ratings have shown continued improvement throughout the past year with 85% of homes currently rated as Good or Outstanding. Under Andrew’s leadership, three homes have now achieved Outstanding from the CQC. These figures make Care UK the best performing provider in terms of quality ratings amongst five largest operators in the sector.
The financial performance of Care UK continues to be positive – the last financial year saw high occupancy and investment in new homes contributing to a continued growth in revenue.
A recent survey showed 80% of Care UK’s customers are now very or completely satisfied – an increase of 2% since the equivalent period in 2017. Care UK’s net promoter score of 50 (the measure of customer loyalty and advocacy) reflects a continued improvement, up 4 points since 2017.
Under Andrew’s leadership, the company is continuing to drive what is believed to be the UK’s largest care home development programme, with around 35 new homes opened since his appointment and a further 11 homes, with over 720 places due to open in the next 12 months. In the last three years alone, these new homes have created over 2,000 new jobs.
Andrew has spent more than 20 years in senior management positions working at senior levels for Weight Watchers UK, Punch Taverns, Spirit Group, and Allied Domecq.
