North-east based Helen McArdle last year received a CBE last year for her services to the care industry. She founded her care home business with her family in 1989 before renovating and opening her first care home in West Pelton, County Durham.
Over 25 years later, Ms McArdle continues to inspire her staff and implement the latest designs for her care homes. The chairman and founder operates 17 care homes in the North-east. Helen McArdle celebrated its third Outstanding rating in July for Park House in Guisborough, North Yorkshire.
In August, Helen McArdle became the first care home operator to achieve four Outstanding CQC ratings when Redesdale Court, located on Rake Lane in North Shields, received the top rating.
