Amanda Scott has had a meteoric rise through the ranks of the care sector over the past 18 years from nurse to head of care and quality for Sunrise.
She joined the business in 2011 as care and quality director with the remit of looking at the clinical governance programme of the organisation and to drive that agenda forward. Two and a half years ago she was appointed managing director.
Following the subsequent acquisition of Gracewell, Amanda has managed the growth of the care home operators as two separate brands. This strategy has included the rebranding and repositioning of Gracewell over the past year and managing its expansion with the ambitious target of doubling its number of homes over the next three years.
Hamberley, a specialist developer of luxury care homes, completed the first of 10 new build properties for Gracewell, a £8 million care home in Solihull, in May. The opening of the 60-bedroom home is to be followed by developments in Adderbury, Bath, Bournville, Lane End, Little Bookham, Newbury, Sutton, Sutton Coldfield and Woking.
Not content with this, Amanda has managed group growth on a global level with two new homes opened by Sunrise in the US this year.
The executive management category is sponsored by Nursing Hygiene Group.
